The siblings carried the King of Fish back home to their little house, which had just two rooms. Hai Sheng shared a room with Brother Ah Nan, while Zhenzhu stayed in the other.
"Brother Ah Nan, Brother Ah Nan, I won the King of Fish!" Hai Sheng was thrilled as he rushed into the house, shouting with joy.
The two hung the King of Fish against the wall, and Zhenzhu said, "Keep it down, Brother Ah Nan might be sleeping."
"I'm not asleep," came Brother Ah Nan's weak voice from inside the room.
The siblings entered the room.
On the narrow bed lay a tall man with disheveled hair, a scruffy beard, and an ashen complexion.
He was wearing the old and faded garb of a fisherman, with several spots of bloodstained on his chest.
"Brother Ah Nan," Hai Sheng trotted over, happily saying to him, "The King of Fish is so big, I was the first to grab the flag. Do you know why I'm so amazing?"
Brother Ah Nan tried to smile with what little strength he had, "I don't know."
