Chapter 6 Meeting Christopher Hart in the Restroom

Hope and her three sons had a meal at the mall and then started shopping.

As they passed a LEGO flagship store, both brothers stopped in unison.

Amelia Garcia walked a few steps ahead and then turned back, looked at the store helplessly, "Want to buy a robot again?"

The older brother quickly asked, "May we?"

Amelia Garcia: "..."

The younger brother continued to plead, "Mom, we didn't bring any toys back home, and it's so boring at home!"

That was indeed the truth.

With her assistant away on a business trip and her managing the two children alone back to the country, the space in her suitcase was limited; she could only bring some essentials.

"Alright, pick one each."

"Yay!"

The two brothers were thrilled and dived into the LEGO store.

Amelia Garcia had been feeling a slight pain in her lower abdomen since the meal and knew from experience that it was her monthly visitor arriving.

What bad luck!

"Noah, keep an eye on your brother for me. I'll go to the restroom; call me if you need anything." Both brothers had phones on their watches, making it easy to stay in contact.

Staring intensely at the LEGO, both brothers nodded repeatedly and waved their hands, "Mom, go ahead, we won't wander off!"

Amelia Garcia found the restroom and, seeing her underwear stained with blood, felt an urge to cry.

Fortunately, the mall was considerate, and there was a telephone in the stall to contact the front desk for sanitary products.

She had no choice but to wait.

Inside the LEGO store.

The older brother was a master at building blocks, quickly assembling a castle that amazed several children nearby.

Hope Hart held a teddy bear and watched the complex structures being built, clapping her little hands joyfully, "Wow... you're so skilled, big brother!"

Ethan Garcia, standing by, said nonchalantly, "This is nothing. My brother can build even more complex ones!"

"Really?" Hope turned to the little boy talking beside her, surprised, "Huh," and then looked back at the one building, amazed, "You two look a bit alike..."

"Yes, we are brothers! My name is Ethan, my brother is Noah, together we make up the universe! Cool, right?" The younger brother, quite the chatterbox, bragged promptly.

Hope didn't understand much about the universe, but she just felt that the older brother looked very handsome, giving her a strange fondness.

"Yeah, amazing!" The little girl nodded vigorously, showing great support.

Noah Garcia placed the final small flag on the castle, straightened up, clapped his hands, and called out to his brother, "Alright, let's go see if Mom is back."

"Okay!"

Seeing the brothers about to leave, Hope rushed to keep up, "Big brother, can we be friends?"

Noah: "We don't know you."

Ethan: "Yes, of course!"

The brothers spoke together but had different opinions, and afterwards, Noah gave Ethan a blank look, speechless.

Ethan laughingly justified himself, "Mom taught us to be gentlemen towards girls."

"You have a mom, that's so nice…" Hope looked envious.

"Everyone has a mom, don't you?"

The little girl shook her head naively.

"Where's your mom then?"

"My mom hasn't been found yet, Dad said we need to play a game to make Mom appear."

Seeing Hope still following them, Ethan curiously asked, "Are you alone? We have to go, be careful not to be caught by bad people."

"My Dad went to the restroom, and the housekeeper Aunt went to buy me some juice. I couldn't wait, hehe, so I sneaked away." Hope said, playfully sticking out her tongue.

Ethan Garcia suddenly sighed, "I envy you for having a dad, my brother and I don't have one."

"Ah?" Hope Hart was surprised, "Where is your dad then?"

"I don't know…"

"Do you know what he looks like?"

"No…" he shook his head.

"You guys are really pitiful! I at least know what my mom looks like, she is very beautiful!"

"Really? Do you have a photo?"

"Yes, but I didn't bring it..." Hope nodded and then shook her head, her little brain bustling with activity.

"Ugh, how can I know if you're telling the truth if you didn't bring it?" Ethan complained indignantly, unable to stand the pity from a little girl.

"Of course, it's true!" Hope declared boldly, "How about this, let's set a time to hang out, and I'll bring my mom's photo for you to see?"

Before the brothers could respond, the housekeeper ran over breathlessly, "Oh my goodness, my little ancestor! How did you run off in the blink of an eye? You scared me to death!"

"Aunt Harper," Hope turned around, her eyes bright with joy, "you see, I just—"

She wanted to introduce her new friends to the housekeeper, but the housekeeper was too preoccupied and picked her up in one swoop: "Let's go! If your father can't find you later, I'll be scolded again!"

Carried by the housekeeper, Hope could only stretch out her little hand and wave goodbye: "Bye brother, next time I'll definitely bring my mom's photo for you, she is very beautiful!"

Ethan Garcia smiled and pointed in the direction of the departing little girl, joking, "Is this sister silly? We don't even know each other, how could we possibly meet again? Hahaha… She's pretty, but a bit foolish."

Noah Garcia unapologetically agreed, "Yep, just like you."

"..."

————

Amelia Garcia finally received a sanitary pad and managed to compose herself, enduring the mild pain in her abdomen, she washed her hands and stepped out of the restroom.

As she raised her eyes to the mirror, her gaze wasn't even clear on her own face before it was captured by another face in the mirror!

Subsequently, her heartbeat lost its rhythm!

Was she seeing things?

The face in the mirror, a male's face, a handsome face, was… Christopher Hart?!

The man whose eyes met hers in the mirror also overflowed with shock!

But quickly, he seemed to accept the sight, slowly straightened up, casually shaking the water off his hands, his thin lips parted lightly: "Amelia Garcia, it really is you."

His instincts were not wrong!

This woman had faked her death! Hidden for four years and now she's quietly returned!

Heartless and cold, a viper of a woman! Even her own daughter she could abandon! How had he not seen before how heartless and ruthless this woman was?

Humph! Still hiding?

It really was divine intervention that without much effort on his part, she had unfortunately delivered herself right in front of him!

The familiar deep voice instantly pulled Amelia back to her senses, she averted her gaze, covering up her racing heartbeat, and pretended nonchalantly to focus on washing her hands.

Christopher Hart stood by, seeing her reaction, quickly caught on, his gaze mocking yet somber: "What, you're pretending not to know me?"

The woman finished washing her hands and straightened up, looking back at him: "Are you speaking to me, sir?"

"…" The man was taken aback, then scoffed.

She was really going to pretend!

In that case, he might as well play along.

"I'm sorry, I mistook you for someone, you look… very much like my ex-wife."

"Is that so?" Amelia suppressed her heart which was about to leap out of her throat, and smiled lightly.

"But, she's already dead."

Christopher Hart's gaze was sharp like a hawk's, intensely watching her, not missing any slight change in expression on her face.
