Christopher Hart had just started his car when Lily Garcia's call came through.
"Christopher, Wendy mentioned that your parents are back in the country. It's been a while since we've seen them, why don't we go home tonight and join them for dinner?"
Lily Garcia was still playing dumb, as if she was oblivious to the "feast at Hongmen" already arranged for tonight.
The man's expression was indifferent, and so was his tone, "Hmm, I'm on my way."
"Really?" The woman sounded excited, "Then come and pick me up, I'm ready too!"
"It's not on the way."
"..."
There was a pause on the other end, and then the woman cooed, "Christopher, if Auntie finds out we've not been getting along recently, you might end up getting scolded again... I'm thinking of you, too."
"A mother scolding her son, isn't that natural? Thanks for your concern."
"Christopher, you—"
"I'm driving, hanging up now."
