If Timothy Zimmerman were here, hearing the words of his own CEO, he would probably be shocked to the point of dropping his jaw.
If the wealthiest man in Seacity claims to come from a poor family, who else could dare claim to be rich?
Of course, the notion of being unloved by parents held some truth.
"Uncle Caleb was so pitiful as a child! Here, eat this!"
Eleanor offered Jasper Brown a chopstick-full of food, her large, watery eyes filled with concern.
"Uncle Caleb, from now on we are a family who loves each other! We'll care for you!"
Mia also added another chopstick-full to his plate.
"Yeah! Giving you love!"
"Heart!"
The two little girls simultaneously made a heart gesture towards him.
Jasper Brown felt as if his heart was soaked in honey, sweet and dense.
Originally, he had just wanted a flash marriage, but unexpectedly got "buy one, get three free."
It added a touch of warm light to his almost thirty years of mundane life.
After dinner, Sienna Summers began tidying up the kitchen.
She could hear the giggling laughter of her daughters from the living room.
Turning her head, she saw her two daughters clinging to Jasper Brown, looking up at his face, chatting about something.
The man comfortably and elegantly leaned on the sofa, smiling and occasionally responding.
Sienna Summers smiled softly, her daughters really seemed to like her flash marriage husband.
And he, was indeed patient with the children.
On the sofa, Jasper Brown listened to the soft, milky voices of the children; he, who usually preferred silence, did not find it noisy but rather interesting.
He glanced at Zach Summers seated beside, with a serious little face.
He was the eldest at home; it seemed only when he accepted him, Jasper's position in the household would be secure.
Jasper eyed, with raised eyebrows, the programming book the little guy held in his hands, a trace of surprise flashed through his dark eyes.
"Do you understand programming?"
Zach Summers's face remained serious, and without a word, he turned the page and continued to read immersed.
This aloof demeanor matched his own.
"Uncle Caleb, brother is a little genius!"
"Yeah, brother knows everything!"
The two little girls spoke on behalf of their brother.
Jasper Brown shifted his sitting position, his lips curving slightly.
"I happen to know a bit about programming too, if there's anything you don't understand, you can ask me."
Hearing this, Zach Summers's little ears moved.
He lifted his eyes, somewhat doubtful, "Do you really know programming?"
Jasper Brown raised an eyebrow, "Shall we go try it on the computer?"
Zach Summers didn't respond but raised his little butt and slid off the sofa.
Jasper Brown hooked his lip, stood up, and together they entered the master bedroom.
Sienna Summers finished cleaning up and came out of the kitchen; seeing only her two daughters in the living room, she grew curious.
"Eleanor, Mia, where are Dora and Uncle Fox?"
"They're in Uncle Caleb's room!"
Sienna Summers blinked, "What are they doing in his room?"
"Uncle Caleb is teaching brother something!"
That was unexpected!
Sienna Summers knew her son was a little genius.
Thus he was quite proud.
Usually, he rarely needed anyone to teach him anything.
And now...
Sienna Summers hesitated for a moment, walked to the master bedroom door, gently turned the doorknob, and looked inside.
The master suite had a small study.
At that moment, the two of them were sitting at the computer desk.
The room was filled with the click-clack sounds of keyboard tapping.
And the low, magnetic voice of the man.
It seemed he was guiding something.
Sienna Summers knew her son was gifted with computers.
The computer books he usually read were completely beyond her understanding.
And her flash-marriage husband could actually guide her son?
Isn't he just a junior assistant?
But thinking about it, anyone who could be a CEO's assistant must be quite exceptional.
The warm yellow light poured down, casting a halo around the man.
At that moment, he resembled a father helping his child with homework.
It was heartwarming.
Sienna Summers pursed her red lips, her mind inevitably filled with doubts.
Why would such a decent man rush into marriage with her?
Was it really just because they were compatible in "that" way?
This question had troubled her for a long time.
Night fell.
The children were asleep.
In the master bedroom.
Jasper Brown finished his bath and took a robe from the wardrobe.
His gaze swept around, noticing none of Sienna's belongings in the closet.
He squinted his eyes, put on his robe, and walked out of the bedroom.
At that moment, Sienna was in the dining room, continuing to work on the jewelry she needed to deliver to a client tomorrow.
Her hair was loosely tied in a low ponytail.
A stray strand cheekily hung to one side.
Her clean, beautiful profile had a hint of playfulness amidst allure.
Jasper Brown's gaze sharpened, sweeping over her bosom, his Adam's apple bobbing slightly.
Just then, Sienna finished her work.
She exhaled a breath, stretching lazily with a smile.
Suddenly, a man's deep, magnetic voice sounded.
"Aren't you sleeping yet?"
Sienna jumped, turning her head to see Jasper Brown approaching her.
The man was dressed in a black silk robe.
Broad shoulders, narrow waist, long legs.
Noble yet ascetic.
Sienna felt a little uneasy, lifting her hand to tuck the stray hair behind her ear.
"I need to deliver these tomorrow, you go ahead and sleep."
She still wasn't quite used to sharing a room with a man she had only met twice.
Jasper Brown glanced at the finished products on the table, "Isn't your work done already?"
"Well, there's still a bit left."
Jasper Brown noticed her evasiveness, a spark of interest in his eyes.
"Are you feeling shy?"
"Ah? No, who's feeling shy!"
Sienna feigned calmness.
Jasper Brown nodded, "I thought so. You've given birth to three kids, we've shared a bed before, being too shy would be pretentious."
His words sounded harsh, almost as if she was too casual.
Sienna's expression faded.
"Please don't treat me as a casual woman, if you married me just because you're interested in my body, sorry, but I can't accept that. I'll sleep on the couch tonight."
For a woman, love comes before intimacy.
She slept with him before because she mistook him for someone else.
Now, being fully aware, she genuinely couldn't bring herself to be intimate with a man she had only met twice!
Her beautiful face tensed, a trace of defiance in her expression.
Jasper Brown moved closer step by step, "So you mean, you'd only be intimate with me after you fall in love?"
His cold breath closed in, carrying an innate sense of oppression.
Sienna's breath hitched, suppressing her fluctuating heartbeat, turning her head away and pursing her lips in silence.
Beside her ear, his mocking voice sounded, "Did I marry a vase just for decoration?"
Sienna's fingers curled, her long eyelashes quivering slightly.
Thinking about the half a million he gave her, she struggled for a bit, softening her tone.
"Sorry, I'm not ready yet, can you give me some time?"
Her soft tone carried a plea.
Jasper Brown fixed his gaze on her beautiful face, straightening his posture.
"Go take a bath and bring your things into the master bedroom. I'm not used to sleeping separately from my wife."
