Sounds of children and Elder Brown chatting came from outside the door.
Jasper Brown hooked the corner of his lips, got out of bed, and walked to the door to open it.
"Morning."
Elder Brown was walking with Eleanor and Mia toward the living room.
Hearing Jasper's voice, the two little ones turned their heads in unison, then happily ran towards him.
"Daddy, you're awake!"
"Daddy, did we wake you up?"
Each of the little ones hugged one of his legs, looking up with their small heads and asking in a milky voice.
Listening to those two "Daddies," Jasper's heart felt instantly filled.
He picked them up one in each arm.
"You didn't wake me, I was already awake."
The view suddenly widened, and the two little ones burst into happy giggles.
Zach Summers, who had just come out of his room, looked at the scene with a flash of envy.
He too longed to be held high.
But thinking that he was a boy and shouldn't act coy like his sisters, the little guy proudly stiffened his little face.
