Chapter 144: Why He's So Eager to Devour Her

Outside, Sienna Summers was led out the door by Jasper Brown.

Her face was still warm from the inexplicable kiss she had just received from Jasper.

"Why are we taking the back door?"

"Because the back door is a shortcut," Jasper teased, seemingly serious.

That kiss had, of course, been deliberate.

He admitted that in some respects, he had a strong sense of possessiveness.

"Don't you need to accompany Director Brown at the banquet? I thought I saw him there just now," Sienna asked.

"I'm not needed in such situations; he can handle it on his own."

He sounded like a lofty leader, and like a patriarch letting go.

Considering his assistant identity, Sienna joked, "In your bones, are you treating Director Brown like a child to worry over?"

Jasper opened the car door for her, "I don't worry about him like a child, I worry about you like a child."

Sienna got into the car and saw Jasper move to the driver's seat, she laughed, "What do I have for you to worry about?"
