Jacob Brown answered the call from Beatrice's mother.
Beatrice's mother asked, "Charlie, Beatrice just called me and said you're planning to remarry. Is that true?"
Jacob responded with a hum, "Yes, it's true. Olivia and I are planning to get our marriage certificate this afternoon."
Beatrice's mother was silent for a moment, "Charlie, we're not stopping you from getting married, but as the saying goes: A new stepmother means a new stepfather. If you are remarrying, perhaps we should take little treasure back with us. We can raise him, and at least we will treat him with our whole heart and not let him suffer any grievances."
Jacob understood the deep meaning behind his former mother-in-law's words.
She was not very keen on him remarrying.
He organized his words, "Mom, Little Treasure is my eldest son, and I value him more than anyone. My decision to remarry was also made after careful consideration."
