Jasper Brown watched as Benjamin Brown tried hard to maintain a calm demeanor, the corners of his lips subtly curving up.
He glanced at his watch, "Kids, can we stay for just five more minutes? Grandma and Grandpa are waiting for us at home to have dinner."
"Okay!" the three little ones responded.
Benjamin felt stifled at the thought of their happy family, while he was left alone in the hospital room.
He clutched his chest feigning weakness, "Kids, daddy's wound still hurts a bit. Can't you stay with daddy a bit longer? Only when you're by daddy's side does the wound hurt less."
The two little girls exchanged a glance, and Eleanor tilted her head, "Then we'll stay five more minutes."
Unsatisfied, Benjamin pouted slightly, "Just five minutes? Can't you stay and have a meal with daddy before leaving?"
The two little girls exchanged another look and didn't say anything.
On the sofa, Jasper's dark eyes narrowed, "Benjamin, this is a hospital."
