Clara's heart skipped a beat, she could even hear it racing in her chest.
"Stop being silly, Grandpa is outside."
She used her grandpa as leverage against him.
Edward Harper chuckled softly, "Grandpa left a long time ago, believe it or not, he's not outside the door, and he's not letting anyone else come upstairs either."
"Are you going to help or not? If not, I'm going to ask Mom for help."
"You really don't treat your mother-in-law as an outsider, daring to let her see all these marks on you?"
Edward's words blocked all her escape routes.
He moved the zipper up and down a few times, freeing the fabric stuck inside, and smoothly zipped it to the top.
Clara sighed in relief, "Thank you."
Edward turned her around to face him,
"If you really want to thank me, then move back to the master bedroom and stop causing a scene. Can you really sleep by yourself?"
