Chapter 39: Nineteen White Roses for Miss Clara Knox

Edward Harper hung up the phone, glanced at the person in his arms, and finally pushed away the hands wrapped around his waist.

"Owe you one."

He got up, dressed quickly.

Those four words harshly pulled Clara Knox back to reality. What was she expecting? Foolishly hoping he would refuse Aria Knight's plea to stay with her.

Reality hit Clara like a harsh blow once again.

Whenever Aria Knight needed him, no matter when or where, he would rush to her, even if it meant stopping midway like he just did.

Clara Knox hated herself, wondering how many times she'd have to be hurt by him before she'd finally give up.

Her love fell to the dust, never treasured by him even once.

Edward Harper swiftly tidied himself up, looked back before leaving.

"Clara, lock the door."

The sound of the door closing reverberated as Clara Knox sniffled, tears rolling down one after another, unable to stop.
