Chapter 108: Leaving Without a Word

Clara Knox was taken back to Brocade Garden by Isadora Turner that evening. After resting for a few hours, she felt much better. She could have walked on her own, but Isadora insisted on taking her back, unwilling to leave her alone.

She returned, expecting to face Edward Harper, still contemplating how to explain things to him. It turned out Edward Harper didn't come back that night.

On Monday, as soon as she arrived at the company, she received an internal call from Liam Johnson.

"Miss… Clara Knox, could you please come to the president's office for some business matters?"

Clara put down her bag, not even bothering to turn on her computer, and headed straight upstairs.

Edward Harper was leaning back in his leather chair, a pen in his hand, looking displeased.

"Director Harper, what can I do for you?"

Liam Johnson closed the door as he left.

Edward Harper handed over a few sheets of A4 paper, dark circles under his eyes, as if he had stayed up all night.
