Clara Knox carried the cucumbers, tomatoes, and some small oil green vegetables she picked from the yard into the kitchen, and then went back to the house to pack her suitcase. She kept worrying in her mind, was it really that troublesome to resign?
She packed her things and went to say goodbye to her grandfather.
Going downstairs, she found someone talking to her grandfather in the living room. The figure looked thin, and the voice was gentle and elegant. Who else could it be but her little uncle?
"Uncle Julian, you're here?"
Clara Knox greeted him politely and got straight to the point,
"Grandpa, I have to return to Capital City, so I won't be able to stay with you for a while. I'll come back once I'm done with this."
Grandpa Harper squinted his eyes and thought, that rascal did listen to him. At least there was room for discipline, and he didn't waste his efforts.
