Chapter 152: Don't Want to Pay Attention to Him

Clara Knox gently comforted Grandpa, speaking words to ease his mind, not noticing a coat falling on her shoulder, carrying that familiar body warmth and his unique scent.

She looked up at him, her eyes filled with estrangement, seemingly telling him, "I don't need it!"

That look left Edward Harper with a mix of emotions.

Those fox-like eyes often gazed at him. He used to love her playfully clinging to his neck, pouting and complaining about him coming home late, not having dinner, or not praising her late-night snacks.

Now those eyes seemed so unfamiliar, making him feel like they could no longer continue together.

The next second, Clara reached to pull off the coat, intending to return it to him. She had made up her mind, no longer swayed by his little gestures of kindness.

She would harden her heart this time, completely giving up on this marriage that had brought her endless harm.

Edward Harper placed his big hand over hers, stopping her next move.
