Chapter 161: Report to the Police

"I'm amazed the Harper Family has someone as incompetent as you!"

The old man cursed, and Uncle Zhong hurried over to pat his back,

"Master, the doctor has advised you not to get upset. Let the young people handle their own affairs."

Clara Knox saw her grandfather's anger rise, and her heart tightened. He had just regained some health, and emotional distress was a big no-no for him.

She chuckled, held Edward Harper's hand, and put on a relaxed facade,

"Grandpa, we were just playing around. If you hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have noticed the mark he pinched red."

She gave Edward Harper a flirtatious glance,

"Be gentler next time, okay?"

Edward Harper seized the opportunity,

"Yeah, I'll be gentler."

With those words, he affectionately tucked a loose strand of her hair behind her ear.

The two of them, displaying poor acting skills, were pretending to be a loving couple, unaware that Grandpa had already overheard their conversation about divorce.
