Outside the room, there was a buzz of conversation.

"Is this really the CEO of Harper Jewelry? He looks even more handsome than on TV."

"Oh my God, I actually saw the top figure of the industry. He's here to see Yvonne, but what's their relationship? You think he might want to acquire us?"

"I always said Yvonne was extraordinary, she even knows such a big shot. With that connection, why doesn't she become a designer at Harper Jewelry?"

"What do you know? Being a designer won't make you much money. We get so many orders every day, isn't that more profitable than working for someone else?"

"True, but Yvonne doesn't look like someone who needs money."

Edward Harper ignored the whispers. He carefully surveyed the office, pristine from cleaning, with a wind chime hanging by the window as usual.

The file on the desk was labeled with the name 'Emily Knox', the elegant handwriting undoubtedly hers.
