Chapter 281: Dog Food

In the video, Edward Harper looked utterly haggard, his clothes covered in dirt. A layer of stubble grew on his chin, and his eyes were vacant, devoid of any spirit.

It was as if his very essence had been drained as he knelt before her grave, muttering continuously,

"Clara, I came too late..."

Clara Knox had never seen Edward Harper like that before. He was a man with a cleanliness obsession, who could never tolerate a single speck of dirt on his clothes. Yet, there he seemed to disregard everything, clearly overwhelmed as if his world had collapsed.

Clara Knox pressed the pause button, unable to continue watching the rest of the video.

She felt a sense of confusion, unsure of who the real him truly was.
