Edward Harper chuckled bitterly, seeking benefits for himself,
"I need to pick one too!"
"Aren't you a man?"
Clara responded so quickly she didn't even think, and as soon as the words left her mouth, she realized Edward was staring directly at her, exuding a dangerous aura.
"Do you not know whether I'm a man or not?"
As they were talking, it started to rain. Since they had rushed out, neither of them had brought an umbrella, but luckily the company was not far away. Clara pointed at a building up ahead,
"Let's run back; the company is just over there."
Edward glanced around. Actually, his apartment was closer to this spot. The place he had bought was conveniently near her company and within the same circle.
At the time, he had thought it would make visiting her more convenient, never expecting it would also offer the advantage of sheltering from the rain.
"Clara, we actually have a closer place to wait out the rain."
