Chapter 416: The Feeling of Celebrating the New Year

"Get in the car."

The family got into the car, and some cheerful music played in the background. Ignored.

Edward Harper drove the car first to the supermarket near their home, buying vegetables and meat.

This time, they didn't bring the housekeeper along, like when they were in Sea City; they had to cook for themselves.

Grandpa claimed he didn't need anyone to take care of him, that he could cook for himself. Yet, when they saw him wearing an apron and carrying out a bowl of noodles from the kitchen this morning, the gratification on his face betrayed the truth.

Edward Harper took advantage of the brief pause in work these few days to fulfill his filial duty.

When the family of four arrived at the door carrying bags of groceries, Grandpa was tying an apron and washing vegetables. He hadn't been in the kitchen for many years; the last time he personally cooked a meal was probably when his wife was still alive.
