"Clara, it's great that you came today. I'll pay you back the money. Friends who are willing to lend money are rare these days. Once again, thank you!"
The money he borrowed hasn't been returned yet, but coincidentally, a payment came through today, so he settles it face to face. With that said, he picks up his phone to make the transfer.
Clara's phone rings, indicating a deposit — a bit more than what she lent out.
"Mr. Austin, I didn't come to ask for the money. You can keep it for now; I won't need it for a while."
"Those who repay well can borrow easily again. Clara, you're much easier to talk to than that dog Edward. Despite years of friendship, the last time I borrowed money from him, you saw his attitude!"
Just then, Edward arrives at the door. He knocks lightly and opens it since it's unlocked.
"So, did Uncle Austin unlock your card?"
Austin freezes for a moment, cursing inwardly. Why does he always get caught badmouthing this dog?
