Chapter 4 Top-Tier Elite Jennings Family

Jennings Family.

Located in the heart of Sea City, Silver River No.1 is the most prestigious neighborhood in the whole city.

Despite the prime real estate value, the villa compound boasts a greening rate of 80%, complete with a man-made lake and expensively crafted artificial hills in the gardens.

The security personnel for the villas are all former special forces, and purchasing a property here requires wealth verification, as it is the gathering place for the top-tier elites of Sea City.

Scarlett Garrison knew this place.

Timothy Garrison had always coveted buying a house here.

Because living here means being neighbors with the elite, and being considered one of them.

A fleet of helicopters landed neatly on the spacious helipad of the residential area; a black Maybach was waiting nearby. The three switched vehicles, and the car drove through the expansive lawns of the garden, finally stopping in front of a four-story manor.

Donovan Jennings got out of the car with Scarlett Garrison, but Samuel Chalmers remained seated.

When it's time for a family reunion, even close friends shouldn't disturb; that's proper manners.

Donovan Jennings waved his hand, and the Maybach started again, driving deeper into the estate.

"The Chalmers family lives just up ahead, I'll formally take you to visit them later."

After explaining, Donovan led Scarlett Garrison inside.

The European-style manorial villa exuded luxury and grandeur.

Walking through the garden, entering the main door, bypassing the vestibule, and entering the living room, Scarlett Garrison was immediately met with the sight of a large group of the Jennings family members sitting in the hall.

On the way here, Donovan had already briefly introduced them to her.

As Scarlett had guessed, the Jennings family is indeed one of the Four Great Families of Sea City, consisting of four branches, three sons and one daughter, all with their own families.

The patriarch, due to health reasons, had retired the year before last, passing control of Jennings Group to the eldest son, Luca Jennings.

The second uncle, Michael Jennings, was a nationally famous singer in his youth and later started his own entertainment company, now a top figure in the industry.

The third uncle, Blaise Jennings, serves as vice president of Jennings Group, solely managing several key industries of the group.

The aunt, Brianna Jennings, is a powerful woman herself, having built an international top-tier brand, with significant influence in the fashion industry.

As for the other younger members, perhaps because the Jennings family is abundantly virile, all four branches have only male grandchildren, except for the youngest daughter in the second branch, and also Azura Loomis, a daughter fostered by Mrs. Jennings from her maternal family.

Looking at the present, it was clear that most branches of the Jennings family had gathered.

Upon seeing Scarlett Garrison and Donovan Jennings enter, all heads turned in unison, each gaze scrutinizing, curious, disdainful, or subtly disapproving.

"Grandpa."

Donovan behaved normally, stepping forward and calling out to the elderly man sitting in the center of the sofa, while introducing, "This is Scarlett."

He gestured towards Scarlett Garrison,

"Scarlett, call him Grandpa."

Scarlett Garrison looked towards the elderly man sitting upright in the center, smiling at her.

Although not very proficient in face reading, she noticed that despite the old man's smiling eyes, his prominent nose bridge, broad forehead, and deeply set eyes signified a person of strong personal opinions.

In other words, this was a person used to giving orders.

"Grandpa," said Scarlett Garrison obediently.

The elder nodded with a warm expression, "Good, it's good you're back. From now on, you are the young miss of the Jennings family, and no one is allowed to bully you."

Donovan then turned towards an individual seated next to the elder Jennings, introducing, "This is Dad."

Scarlett Garrison followed her gaze, and compared to the kindly face of the elder, Luca Jennings gave off a relatively cool and practiced impression, especially with the defined angularity showing hardness when he turned his face sideways, his features sharp and clear, vaguely revealing his handsome appearance in his youth.

The fine lines that time had left on his face did not show any signs of aging, instead exuding the charm of a mature man.

He was a different type from Timothy Garrison.

Scarlett Garrison opened her mouth and whispered softly, "Dad."

The corner of Luca Jennings' lips tightened slightly at this word, and when he looked at Scarlett Garrison, his face showed little emotion, and after a long while, he answered in a deep voice,

"Mm."

Donovan Jennings then introduced her to the other elders of the Jennings family.

Scarlett Garrison quietly looked around; apart from their grandmother who was still in the sanatorium and another cousin, almost all Jennings family members were present.

However, among these people, her mother was not there.

According to Donovan Jennings, her mother had chased after the kidnapper alone when she was taken away as a child, but she tragically fell into the sea midway and her remains have never been found to this day.

Perhaps sensing her silence, the woman who had just been called Auntie stepped forward and affectionately wrapped an arm around Scarlett Garrison's arm, her eyes full of sympathy and affection.

"You must be tired from just coming back, Scarlett. Auntie has already had your room prepared. Take a look and see if you like it, and if there's anything you don't like, feel free to tell me."

Old Mr. Jennings held traditional views on family matters, adhering to the principle that as long as the parents are alive, the family does not separate, and besides his fourth daughter who had already married away, the other three branches all lived together in this mansion.

The woman was named Odessa, around forty years of age, but both her figure and skin were well maintained, giving off the air of a distinguished lady at first glance.

Yet her tender heart, combined with her vain and paranoid facial expressions, appeared very dissonant to Scarlett Garrison.

Without a change of expression, Scarlett Garrison pulled her arm back, just about to politely give thanks, when suddenly a young boy about thirteen or fourteen burst out,

"Auntie, you should prepare another room for her; the original one is Azura's nursery, and if you give it to her, there will be no place for Azura's dolls."

The boy was the youngest son of the third branch, named Lucas Jennings, and was the most rash among all the Jennings.

Sure enough, as soon as he spoke, several faces in the hall displayed indescribable expressions.

Uncle Blaise Jennings immediately frowned deeply, "What nonsense are you spouting?! Mind your own business."

"Why are you scolding me? I didn't say anything wrong," Lucas Jennings retorted stubbornly, "With so many rooms in the house not being used, why does she have to take over Azura's nursery the moment she arrives? What gives her the right?!"

Standing among the younger generation, a girl had risen to her feet at some point, her beautiful and delicate face carrying a hint of guilt,

"Lucas, stop it."

This was the Azura Loomis that the boy mentioned.

Azura Loomis was the niece of Old Mrs. Jennings from her maternal family. In order to soothe her eldest son's heart and to alleviate the Jennings family's imbalance of yin and yang after Scarlett Garrison went missing, Old Mrs. Jennings had specially brought Azura Loomis from her maternal home and raised her in the Jennings family from the age of three, growing up with all her cousins.

She then turned to Scarlett Garrison, speaking softly, "Don't be mad at him, sister Scarlett, Lucas doesn't mean any harm; he just can't stand to see me upset. That room is yours now, I'm fine with anything."

Her manner was generously appropriate, yet every word emphasized her own grievances.

A familiar drama full of Isolde Garrison's traits.

Scarlett Garrison silently reflected.

Could it be that her own nature was too unique, always attracting such drama queens?

Then she saw the young girl turn her head, feigning reprimand, "Lucas, apologize quickly, Scarlett is your sister."

"Tch," the boy scoffed disdainfully, muttering, "She's not my sister."

With a "clang", someone's cup was heavily knocked on the marble tabletop, and the living room suddenly fell silent.
