Chapter 3 The Nasty Man

Granny Fu nearly died of anger when she heard this, "Fu Chenlie! How can I have such a bastard for a grandson? Do you really have to anger me to death?! Let me tell you, if you really have the guts to kill your own child, then I will have Jiang Wan Ning buried with him!"

"Grandma, Wan Ning saved my life. Is this how you treat your grandson's life-saver?"

"Whether she really saved you is still uncertain. I've seen too many of those vicious women who assume others' identities. I suspect Jiang Wan Ning could be one of them."

Fu Chenlie concluded, "That's your prejudice against her."

The old lady snorted dismissively, "Enough, bring Ranran home for lunch tomorrow noon so that the family can get to know her."

His expression darkened as he asked unhappily, "Is that necessary?"

"Of course it's necessary. I finally have a granddaughter-in-law. It's already a great regret that I haven't set off firecrackers to celebrate, so shouldn't I at least introduce her to the family?"

Fu Chenlie's voice, flat and emotionless, betrayed nothing, "Understood."

After ending the call, he sat back down on the single-seater sofa where he had been before, took out a cigarette, and lit it.

If it weren't for Granny lying in the hospital refusing to eat or drink, forcing him to marry Wen Ran, he would never have obtained a marriage certificate with a strange woman.

Now that he had the certificate, Grandma was using Wan Ning's whereabouts to blackmail him into having children!

Thinking of this, the man's displeasure grew even more intense.

Just then, noises came from upstairs.

Wen Ran had just finished packing some things and felt thirsty. She thought Fu Chen had already left the living room, intending to go downstairs for a glass of water. But as soon as she stepped out, she felt the icy gaze from downstairs and couldn't help shivering.

Images of being choked flashed through her mind, making her hesitant to go back to her room.

But abruptly turning back would be odd, wouldn't it?

Besides, she was just going to have some water and not bother Fu Chen. He shouldn't flare up again, right?!

With that thought, Wen Ran descended the stairs.

The water dispenser was not far from the staircase.

She had planned to find a disposable cup to quench her thirst, but then she realized there were no disposable cups!

What to do?

Forget it, might as well grab any cup, fill it with water, drink, and dash.

Thinking this, she casually picked up a cup.

Wen Ran had just filled the cup with water and was about to take a sip when she unexpectedly discovered that Fu Chen had walked over at some point.

He was watching her.

Although Wen Ran could tell that he looked upset, the man was right in front of her, and it seemed inappropriate not to acknowledge him, so she greeted him timidly, "Mr. Fu, you..."

Before she could finish, the cup in her hand was suddenly snatched away.

The movement was so abrupt that water splashed out, spilling onto the floor.

She instinctively stepped back, looking at the man in confusion, "Why did you take my cup?"

His eyes filled with scorn, he mockingly retorted, "Your cup?"

Wen Ran, taken aback by his terrifying gaze, instinctively backed away, "It's not mine, but I just used it for a sip of water, is that not okay?"

Fu Chen's gaze shifted from her face to the cup, staring at it for two seconds before the fingers gripping the cup loosened one by one until finally...

Thunk—

The cup fell into the trash can beside the water dispenser.

More precisely, Fu Chen had thrown it into the trash can.

Wen Ran asked weakly, "What... what are you doing?"

"The things you touch, I find dirty. It's better thrown away early." After saying this, he walked past her, shooting her a disdainful glance before going upstairs.

Bang!

The door of the master bedroom on the second floor closed.

Wen Ran's expressionless face, up until this moment, showed a hint of emotional fracture.

She bit her lip, feeling aggrieved.

Why was she being bullied like this?

She didn't even want to marry him, okay?!

The more Wen Ran thought about it, the more aggrieved she felt, and her eyes began to redden.

She looked at the Red String of Fate with the White Jade Bracelet on her left wrist and gently touched it.

If the person she married were him, she surely wouldn't have been treated like this, would she?!

Almost choked to death, and hadn't even had a drink of water, Wen Ran didn't want to stay in this villa any longer.

She contacted her best friend Jiang Yan and left the dreadful place overnight.

Ten minutes later.

Wen Ran was sitting on the back seat of Jiang Yan's electric scooter, sipping delicious milk tea, her spirits completely lifted.

"Ranran, from what you said, does that Fu Chen have a first love?"

"Uh-huh, her name seems to be something like Wan Ning."

The sound of wind whooshed on the street as Jiang Yan laughed and shouted over it to converse with her, "Although he has someone he likes, now that he's married to you, you two are bound to develop affection over time. By the time his beloved returns, you'll have completely captured his heart, and the first love will have no choice but to hide away and cry. Ranran, you got this!"
