Serena Summers furrowed her brow. "What's the matter?"
"Don't worry, it's nothing major. Clara Shaw knelt for an entire night at the old estate, got drenched in the rain, and seems to have caught the flu."
At the mention of Clara Shaw, Lucas Shaw's eyes flashed with a trace of distaste.
He lowered his gaze to Serena. "If you don't want to go, you don't have to. It's not as if you're the only doctor in the world."
Even though Master Shaw had already called at five in the morning.
But he couldn't bear to wake Serena up, so he hadn't disturbed her.
If Clara's illness was so serious, the first place she should go was the hospital, not come seeking his wife.
Did they really think of his Serena as their personal family doctor?
At least family doctors get paid.
What does his Serena get out of any of this?
Serena lay curled in his embrace and gently nodded, "It's flu season right now, with frequent outbreaks. Why don't we go take a look?"
