After Liam Shaw and Edward Selwyn left, only the two of them remained in the hospital room.
Lucas Shaw buried his face into Serena Summers' shoulder nook, gently nuzzling against her.
In a low voice, he said, "Stay with me tonight, hmm?"
Serena felt a tingling itch at the nape of her neck and laughed softly, pushing his face away.
"If I stay, where will I sleep?"
The room only had one sofa; last night, Liam had reluctantly spent the night on it.
Apparently, when he woke up this morning, he nearly got a stiff neck.
Although she really wanted to stay with Lucas, there was still a hint of hesitation in her heart.
After all, a stiff neck was painful.
She was most afraid of pain.
How could Lucas Shaw not figure out what she was thinking?
His cool, slender fingers gently tapped the tip of her nose, amused. "What are you thinking? How could I possibly let you sleep on the sofa?"
