Chu Yelin was just arriving at the boutique front when he received Lin Qian's call.
He raised an eyebrow slightly at the caller ID on his phone.
She was calling him proactively?
That wasn't very common.
He answered the call, and Lin Qian's voice came through.
"President Chu, I'd like to apply for annual leave."
Annual leave?
Chu Yelin's eyes flickered, "Lin Qian, I recall you just arrived at the Su City boutique recently, aren't you taking annual leave quite soon? Is something the matter?"
"Yes, I have some personal matters to deal with."
"Personal matters?"
Chu Yelin's gaze shifted slightly, probing, "You're not preparing to get married, are you?"
At those words, Lin Qian laughed on the other end of the line, "President Chu, you're overthinking it. There's a child who has leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant, and it just so happens that my marrow is a match, so I need to coordinate with the treatment."
One sentence made Chu Yelin's expression stiffen slightly.
