In the morning, James Thompson had calmed down considerably.
Julia Land was getting ready to head out for work when she walked over to James with a smile and took the initiative to ask for a kiss.
James bent down and lowered his head to accommodate her kiss.
"I'll bring lunch for you at noon," he said.
Julia nodded and waved as she got into her car.
At 9:30 in the morning, Julia was in the company's meeting room preparing to convene an important meeting.
Before the meeting, she dialed Uncle Moore's phone number.
"Good morning, Mr. Uncle Moore," Julia's voice was calm but laced with a hint of mockery, "I wanted to assure you of my safety. I'm well, thank you for your care during this time."
Uncle Moore had been waiting for news from that pair of siblings since early morning, and his expression darkened immediately upon receiving Julia's call.
He scoffed coldly, "Director Land is really thoughtful, going so far as to check in with her uncle for safety."
