Early in the morning, a bouquet of roses appeared in front of Dale Land.
"You became Chairman yesterday—I meant to give you flowers then, but now I'm a day late," Carson Dunn said regretfully.
Dale Land accepted the flowers and couldn't help but smile.
"Happy?" Carson asked, his deep eyes sparkling with amusement.
"Not happy," Dale denied, "Who told you to send them a day late?"
"Not happy? Then why are you smiling?" Carson cast a sidelong glance at his girlfriend, who was speaking in contradictions.
Dale replied with perfect politeness, "I'm not smiling."
"..."
She said she wasn't smiling, but her face was full of joy.
Who wouldn't feel good seeing flowers first thing in the morning?
After managing to leave Carson speechless, the pair got into the car, with Carson at the wheel.
Dale asked him to hand over his phone.
Without hesitation, Carson passed his phone to Dale, "Little Dale, are you checking up on me?"
