"Dad?"
Yan Xi waited quietly for a while without receiving a response from Mr. Yan, and called out in confusion.
Mr. Yan finally came back to his senses. Instead of directly answering Yan Xi's question, he asked in return:
"What did she say to you?"
Yan Xi thought seriously for a moment, then shook her head.
"Nothing much, just remarked on how much I've grown. So I guess she must have seen me when I was young."
Mr. Yan responded with a faint "Mm" before replying casually.
"Maybe it's been too long; I don't remember such a person anymore."
"After all, you know the situation the Yan Family was in back then."
During the peak years of the Yan Family, which was around the time Yan Xi was ten or so, many prominent families wanted to establish connections with them. Mr. Yan was busy all the time.
Yan Xi had met many uncles and aunts during that period, but now, looking back, she had little impression of those people.
