Ellie Doyle unconsciously swallowed.
In the dimness.
The man's low voice pierced the darkness, clearly landing in her ears, "Have you seen enough?"
As the voice sounded.
It swiftly pulled Ellie Doyle back to reality.
She frantically moved the flashlight from her phone in another direction, her cheeks burning frighteningly, "I'm going to turn on the backup power, the electricity will be back on in a moment."
In her panic.
Ellie Doyle didn't even notice the vase at her feet, and she stumbled towards the direction of the vase.
There was a crashing sound.
The porcelain shattered on the floor, breaking into pieces.
Ellie Doyle grew even more panicked.
She turned her head and toppled another vase on the opposite side.
Her body uncontrollably staggered.
A hand firmly caught her arm.
Barely preventing her from falling.
Hugo Hayes looked at the flushed face before him, teasing with a smile, "Ms. Doyle, have you never seen a man's body before? Why so flustered?"
