"Great-grandfather?" Quiana Doyle asked in confusion, "Granny, then are you my great-grandmother's husband?"
But,
she had never heard her great-grandmother mention it.
Her words also took Elder Johnson by surprise.
Upon realizing, the "great-grandmother" the child referred to must be none other than Mrs. Doyle, Elder Johnson felt a twinge of loss.
If his wife were still alive,
she would also have been able to hear the child call her "great-grandmother."
Eliie Doyle, with a cold expression, interrupted their conversation and handed the medicine bowl to Elder Johnson: "Take your medicine."
Then, she turned to the three children, "Go have breakfast."
The three kids dared not disobey Ellie Doyle and nodded, following Mrs. Lee to the dining area for their meal.
Holding Mrs. Lee's hand, Quiana Doyle couldn't help but turn back after a few steps to look in Elder Johnson's direction.
Was this elderly gentleman really her great-grandfather?
