"Mr. Blake, if you came here today to talk to me about this matter," Ellie Doyle calmly interrupted Blake Hughes, "then I'm afraid I might have to disappoint you. I'm not interested in the work that Marcus Sharp does."
Blake Hughes was startled, and the words he was about to utter also paused.
Ellie Doyle stared at the butler pouring tea for Blake Hughes and added, "I guess, Mr. Blake, you didn't come here for such a boring matter. Just speak up, what do you need from me?"
"If I can be of any help, I think I should not refuse."
The air grew quiet.
In the hall, only the sound of the butler pouring tea could be heard.
Blake Hughes fell silent for two seconds before shaking his head with a light chuckle, "It seems I've thought too much, I had assumed Professor Doyle would be interested in these matters."
"Since that's the case, I'll get straight to the point."
"Our department has been working on a project recently, and I was hoping to get your help."
