He waited patiently until the three-minute interview video had ended.
Taking a deep breath, he looked toward Ellie Doyle once more, his gaze turning somewhat fanatical, "So, she's not just some high-school graduate, she's actually one of the country's top math professors?"
His agent couldn't quite grasp what Max Webb meant by that, and he nodded, "According to current news reports, that seems to be the case, yes."
"This woman is quite interesting." Max Webb's lips curled upward as he fixed his gaze on Ellie, like she was prey he was determined to have: "Only a woman like her is worthy of me, isn't she."
The agent's face changed color, "Max, you're not serious, are you?"
"Not serious? Why wouldn't I be?" Max Webb tossed his cell phone back to his agent, his eyes gleaming with greedy amusement, "A top-quality woman like her is rare, you know. What, have you taken a fancy to her too?"
The agent felt a shiver down his spine under Max Webb's piercing gaze and did not respond.
