The injury from last night?
Sheng Youxia couldn't help but furrow her brows.
With an air of nonchalance, Fu Shilv said, "I've checked it; no serious harm."
He clearly didn't want to dwell on the subject and the nurse didn't say more before she left.
Fu Shilv checked the time—it was almost time to head to the clinic. "Shall we go?"
"Okay."
Sheng Youxia didn't head straight back to the ward, but instead found the nurse from earlier.
"What happened last night? Why did Fu Shilv get injured?"
"Mr. Fu didn't tell you?" The young nurse recalled the scene, still terrified at the thought.
She shook her head lightly.
"He probably didn't want to worry you. Actually, things weren't smooth on our way back. Mr. Fu called the police immediately, but before they could arrive, our car was blocked on a mountainside."
Sheng Youxia thought of the dark windy night and deep forests, where committing arson and murder seemed all too easy.
"Mr. Fu went down to negotiate alone."
