The next morning, Qiao Rui was ready to head out before dawn.
She didn't bring anything except a jar of tea as she went downstairs.
Mrs. Feng glanced at the clock—it was only five-thirty— and asked, "Madam, you're going out while it's barely light out?"
"Yes, Mrs. Feng," Qiao Rui said, "I've asked for time off from Mr. Pei, I'll be returning to the countryside for three days. There's no need to tidy up my room."
"Mr. Pei agreed?" Mrs. Feng was a bit surprised.
"Yes." Qiao Rui nodded and said, "Mr. Pei is a good person."
Mrs. Feng also nodded. "Yes, our master is a very nice person."
Qiao Rui sneered to herself, good indeed; she was just being polite.
"This is Mao Jian tea, just enjoy it," Qiao Rui said with a smile.
"But I heard you telling Mr. Pei yesterday that the tea leaves were...?" Mrs. Feng trailed off.
Qiao Rui snickered. "I was teasing Mr. Pei. It's not 'booger'-sized, sister Feng."
Mrs. Feng was also taken aback, finding it a bit hard to believe.
