"Duck King?" Song Xun frowned, looking down at Song Muyu before suddenly biting into her.
"Ah!"
In an instant, a clash akin to heavenly thunder and earth fire seemed imminent.
Yet Song Muyu still pushed his face away, enunciating every word, "Even if it were the Duck King, even a fighter among them, I wouldn't be at a loss."
Song Xun gritted his teeth, narrowing his eyes at the woman in his arms. Her clear eyes and white teeth sparkled with life, her gaze defiant and rebellious.
He just watched Song Muyu, in a tense deadlock, their eyes locked together, with neither willing to compromise.
Song Muyu knew that if she always gave in like this, the outcome would be truly tragic, utterly devoid of any self-respect.
If loving someone meant trampling on all her self-respect for an outcome still not guaranteed to be good, she'd rather not have it.
She loved him, but she wouldn't love in a demeaning way, void of dignity.
