Violet Don was discharged from the hospital.
Noah Bates thought Violet had calmed down temporarily, watching her return to the ward, watching her lie down quietly, but little did he know it was all a pretense. She pretended everything was peacefully quiet.
So later, while Noah was at the company, Violet took care of her own discharge formalities, freshened up, cleaned her wounds, and straightened her makeup, her demeanor frighteningly composed.
It was like the last surge of energy before death.
When she left the hospital, Violet hurried and on her way home, she bought a cake. When she reached home, she cleaned up and then cooked a table full of dishes, placing the cake in the center and lighting candles on it, before silently watching them burn down.
As if her life itself was burning away.
Violet gazed at the candle and after a long while, whispered softly, "Brother, happy birthday."
I'm sorry, I couldn't celebrate with you… and now your life will forever remain at 27.
