Violet Don took Wayne Don to the school registration office the next day, and Wayne was clearly very excited. He had bought a new backpack and had all his stationery ready. As he watched Violet dealing with the school leaders for the paperwork, the little boy stood on the side, his eyes brimming with anticipation.
"Wayne, you're going to start school in a few days, and once school starts, you'll need to be serious, okay?" After paying Wayne's tuition, Violet took him for a tour around the school. In the afternoon, when they were leaving, Wayne was a bit reluctant. "Mommy, am I going to be boarding or commuting every day?"
"Mommy will drop you off and pick you up," Violet smiled. "You're still young, and I'd worry if you lived with others." She was more concerned about what she would do if Noah Bates and his people showed up one day and she wasn't by his side.
