"Spot on," Camila Ginger, thick-skinned and oblivious, failed to grasp the deeper meaning in Wayne Don's words, simply praising, "Violet, you've given birth to a genius son."
From the side, Wayne chimed in, "Of course! As long as I'm around, no one will dare to hurt Mommy!"
"Oh? So if your mommy and Noah Bates meet and fall out again, whose side will you take?"
"Of course, I'll help my mommy," Wayne answered without hesitation, each word delivered in a childlike but firm voice, "If one day Noah Bates stands against us, even if he's my biological father, I won't show any mercy."
Violet looked up, initially startled by Wayne's deep, dark eyes, but the next second the little boy was smiling cheerfully, his innocence plain on his face, "Right, Mommy?"
"Ah? Oh... um..."
Violet glanced at her son and said nothing else.
