The little girl's face was full of fear, terrified that Violet Don would lose her sanity again, and even more terrified that she herself… would be targeted by this frail yet intensely emotional woman before her.
But Violet just smiled at her, "How long have you been waiting here?"
The little girl trembled, "Three hours…"
Violet couldn't muster much affection for Penelope Bates. She could only rationalize to herself that the grudges between adults were not the fault of the children. Yet even so, when she saw Penelope, her anger would inevitably surge uncontrollably.
"Why are you here with me? Why not go find your mother?"
"My mommy doesn't need me…" Penelope still remained in the corner, unwilling to come out. Her gaze carried both longing and dread. Wayne Don would never show such an expression, for he was deeply loved by Violet.
Noah Bates glanced back coldly and said to Penelope, "Come here."
