Chapter 406: Why Keep Her, Is There Another Lover?

"No... no, you're mine. How could you do this to me for another woman?"

Amy Andrews's face was streaked with tears. "I was also one of the victims back then! How could you treat me like this!"

Her questioning grew more urgent, pushing him further and further. Noah Bates simply frowned and stayed silent, until Amy's sobbing finally subsided, when he signaled for Nicholas Woods to enter the room.

He gestured for Nicholas to send Amy home. Amy frantically slapped the wheelchair, her eyes blood-red. "Brother Noah! You've changed! How could you betray the feelings we once shared!"

Noah watched as Nicholas wheeled Amy out of the office. Only then did the room gradually settle into silence.

Throughout Amy's accusations, Noah hadn't uttered a single word in response.

Penelope Bates, naive and innocent, noticed Noah's unhappiness. She looked up at her father with earnest eyes, whispering, "Daddy, do you... not like my mommy?"
