Chapter 44 You Really Know How to Delude Yourself

"Miss Greenwood," a nurse gently began, "if you can't bear it, tell me."

"No… I'm fine," Yolanda Greenwood struggled to answer.

Her face was deathly pale, her gaze fixed unwaveringly on the person outside.

It was Cooper Coldson.

She didn't know why he was there, maybe he really was just a hallucination.

Yolanda clenched her teeth as she stared at the unchanging indifference of the man outside the window; somehow, she truly felt the pain subsiding.

Cooper Coldson had always been her cure, both a remedy and a poison.

Remembering the many years she had loved him, there had been countless times more painful than now.

Yolanda didn't know when she had passed out, but the last thought before doing so was to divorce Cooper Coldson as soon as possible.

When she woke up again, she was in the hospital room.

"Miss Greenwood, you're finally awake."

The young nurse was terrified.

"I told you not to act tough; you nearly got me eaten alive by your boyfriend."
