"How is Yolanda?" Cooper asked a question off-topic.
"Answer my question," Noah persisted.
Cooper took out his phone and turned to leave.
Noah blocked his path, "Is this question so hard to answer? Even if it was Melissa Greenwood who saved you back then..."
"Big brother!" Cooper interrupted Noah's words, "I think a deserter has no right to comment on the past."
Hearing the word "deserter," the color drained from Noah's face.
Cooper shoved him aside.
Noah watched him walk away, then slowly spoke, "Yolanda is fine."
Cooper's finger hovered over the call button for a moment before he hung up, choosing instead to call Melissa.
The call connected quickly, and Melissa's weak voice came through, "Cooper? Is it you?"
Cooper frowned, "What's wrong with you?"
"Cooper, I feel like I've done something terribly wrong," Melissa said, the sound of her crying clear, "can you call Yolanda for me?"
Cooper grew more puzzled, "What on earth happened today?"
