In the apartment, because May was there, Yolanda Greenwood went to bed early.
The little one was especially well-behaved, lying there quietly, not daring to fidget.
Yolanda smiled, "Does May usually go to bed early?"
"I don't know." Little May blinked her big eyes, "I wait for Daddy to come home before I go to bed, but sometimes... I fall asleep while waiting."
She earnestly asked Yolanda, "Is that considered early?"
Yolanda stroked the little one's head, "That's fine. Does May get scared when Daddy isn't home at night?"
"A little." The little one's voice was milky, "The neighbors are all nice to May, there won't be any bad people, but sometimes May has nightmares."
Poor child.
"Then next time Daddy isn't home, would May like to come sleep over at Auntie's place?" Yolanda asked in a gentle voice.
"Is that okay?" The little one was obviously very happy.
"Of course, Auntie really likes May," Yolanda genuinely liked the little one and gently tickled her nose.
