Melissa Greenwood shifted her posture, looked serious, and asked, "Do you really want to stay by my side?"
May immediately nodded vigorously and emphasized again, "May likes Mommy."
"You can stay, but you must obey," Melissa Greenwood held up a finger. "The first rule, and the most important one, is to forget that I am your birth mother."
May seemed not to quite understand, blinking her big eyes she asked, "Why?"
"Because when your father and I had you, it was a mistake," Melissa Greenwood exclaimed in frustration, "I wish none of it had ever happened."
The little one's chin dropped, downtrodden, "Mommy doesn't like May."
"Yes, I don't like you, I don't like you, and I don't like your father either," Melissa Greenwood emphasized repeatedly, "And in the future, I will have my own children, and they will be my treasures."
She grabbed May by her clothes, pulling her closer, "If you want to stay by my side, forget I am your mom, can you do that?"
