"Oh?" Cooper Coldson seemed intrigued. "A regular psychologist won't do? It must be someone like Dr. Sterling—an industry leader?"
Adam Sterling nodded affirmatively. "President Coldson, whether in terms of psychological defenses or self-identity, you're top-notch. I'm afraid ordinary doctors wouldn't be able to function properly in front of you."
Cooper let out a low laugh. "Am I to understand that Dr. Sterling is complimenting me for being too confident?"
"President Coldson, being overly confident—believing that everything is within your grasp," Adam Sterling said sternly, "One day, when you realize that's not true, everything you've built could come crumbling down."
Cooper laughed again, his shoulders trembling as he did.
Adam frowned. "Cooper, I'm not trying to scare you with empty threats."
"Enough!" Cooper suddenly stopped laughing, glaring at Adam with hostility. "Dr. Sterling, you're not here today to heal or save lives, are you?"
