Cooper continued eating without saying a word, seemingly lost in thought.
"Let the child stay at my place for now," Isabella Ross spoke up first. "Once you two get married, then you can think about bringing him back."
"Mom…" Cooper seemed to disagree.
Isabella interrupted him, "It's settled. You two should seriously consider having another child yourselves. With the Old Master gone, living alone in the old mansion, I need someone to keep me company."
"Mom, Melissa and I won't be having children," Cooper said firmly.
Isabella glared at them angrily, then stood up with the child in her arms. "Suit yourselves. If you don't want children, you still have Little May. Just focus on raising her well."
She left no room for negotiation, carrying the child directly back to her room.
Christopher let out a low chuckle. It was unclear whether it was schadenfreude or genuine agreement as he said, "I think that works just fine."
