"Good girl, our Ella is the best." Yolanda held the little one at the coffee shop entrance without immediately stepping outside, watching Elsie Adams and Gabriel approaching that man.

The sky outside was already dark, and the man's outline was obscured under the street lights. Yolanda still couldn't quite see his features, yet something in her heart held an undeniable ache, preventing her from stepping out of the café.
