Chapter 3: Story yet to be told (3)

"Miss Delilah, did you hear the recent news about Crown Prince Arthur?" Avery exclaimed, while helping to brush Delilah's soft brown hair.

Delilah glanced up at her in the mirror, raising an eyebrow. "Am I missing something?"

Avery's eyes sparkled with excitement as she grinned. "The Crown Prince defeated 'Vin' in a battle!"

Delilah paused, turning to face her. "Huh, 'Vin'? The one they say has been causing trouble?"

Avery nodded enthusiastically. "Yes! Apparently, Arthur beat him in an epic showdown! Now everyone's talking about it. They say Arthur's unstoppable!"

Delilah's expression remained calm, though her mind started to turn. "Well, I'm sure that's great for him... and for the kingdom."

Avery continued, oblivious to Delilah's thoughts. "I know, right? He's become even more of a hero now. And, well, since you and Prince Arthur are rumoured to be engaged soon, this just makes him look even better!"

Delilah's lips curled into a small smile, though it didn't reach her eyes. "I suppose so," she replied softly. "But I'm not sure what happened on the surface really happened."

Avery looked at her, puzzled. "What do you mean? Don't you think it's great?"

Delilah shrugged, standing up and walking over to the window to gaze out at the distant kingdom.

The moonlight reflected off the castle walls, and for a moment, the kingdom seemed peaceful—almost too peaceful. "It's good for the people, I suppose. A strong leader makes them feel safe."

Avery hesitated, then said, "But aren't you happy about it? This makes your future marriage with him more... well, important."

Delilah turned back to face her, her gaze distant but still manage to put on a faint smile. "I suppose so."

Avery blinked, clearly not understanding why Delilah is acting this way, but Delilah didn't offer more. Instead, she crossed the room and sat down on her bed, looking at her reflection.

The future seemed so far away, but at the same time, she couldn't shake the feeling that things were changing—things she didn't fully understand yet.

The sound of the night breeze rustling through the trees filled the silence between them.

"Avery, thank you so much for what you have done for me. I'm glad to have you as my maid, tell Leon that I thanked him too." Delilah reminded Avery left.

"Miss Delilah…are you planning something?" Avery asked softly, her gaze locked with Delilah.

"Ahah..you know me so well, ask Leon to prepare the training materials and my sword tomorrow morning." Delilah replied with a smile.

"Yes, miss Delilah. I bid you a good night." She added before leaving Delilah's room quietly.

Delilah collapsed on her bed immediately after Avery left, her body became relaxed without any hesitation.

Her forearm covered her eyes with a hint of exhaustion,

"Looks like I'll have to visit him again tomorrow." She mumbled, "This 'Vin'..who really is he?" She whispered underneath her breath.

"Oh dear gods, please help me let the truth be revealed and the evil in disguise gets exposed and the real hero to be seen by all." She said hoping that things will change, her eyelids slowly start to close.

.

Something woke Delilah up, it was someones touch. She didn't had the strength to open her eyes fully, she saw a figure by her side. It was the feeling of someone caressing her hair, the figure's hand was cold, it's hair colour seemed to be a very dark shade of purple or maybe it was black..? The figure had a hood on, then before Delilah knew it, she fell asleep again leaving the person by her side undiscovered.

'Vin' leapt from rooftop to rooftop, he moved swiftly and soundlessly. The night air was cold, but he ignored it. His eyes scanned the city below, looking for a safe place to rest. In the distance, he spotted a large mansion. It stood out with its tall pillars and fancy decorations, but what really caught his eye was a balcony.

The door to the balcony was slightly open, and the curtains fluttered in the breeze. He noticed that the opened balcony door would led to a room.

"It wouldn't hurt to explore such a fancy place," he muttered to himself.

He made his way toward the mansion, his footsteps light as he leapt onto the wall. Climbing it with ease, he reached the balcony in seconds. He stepping inside the room from the balcony,

He observed the room for awhile, it was clean and had a soft vibe to it. Most of the things were covered in pink, something caught 'Vin' eyes.

It was a bunch of tulips in a vase, it seems to him that this woman had a perticular liking towards pink and tulips.

He looked up to see a young woman layung on the bed..asleep.

'Vin' eyes widened in astonishment, as he looked closer, he had never saw such a mesmerising woman in his life. He walked closer towards her, his eyes still fixed upon her and was careful to not wake her up.

As he got closer and closer, he made sure to check her fingers with any sign of a ring just in case she was married, he wouldn't want to go fooling around with a married woman. Thankfully, she wasn't married. 'Vin' managed to take a seat on her bed, looking at the woman, his gaze not leaving her.

"So..beautiful.." He chuckled softly, his hands running through her soft light brown hair, "She smells just peaches..or maybe it was raspberries?" He grinned inwardly with a soft expression

"This girl..I'll make sure to find you next time." 'Vin' gave her one last gaze and left the room swiftly and as quick as possible to avoid any trouble that may come to him..maybe her too. He secretly hoped that the next time he saw her, he would have tulips ready for her.

His very dark shade of purple hair, close to being black dances in the cold air through out the night. His cold red eyes observant towards everything. The perfect way to describe a villain.
