After speaking, Huo Shaoyan left without looking back.
As soon as he left, An Muxin cried to An Jifeng, "Brother, brother... please forgive me..."
An Jifeng picked up the dagger that had fallen to the ground, then looked down at her, expressionless:
"Grandfather has already announced to the public that you are a foundling adopted by the An Family and not their daughter."
The implication was to abandon her to preserve the An Family's honor.
An Muxin closed her eyes in despair.
She felt a deep, profound pain in her heart.
She opened her eyes painfully, her gaze full of resentment as she looked at An Jifeng and asked unwillingly:
"What about dad? What did dad say? I'm his favorite daughter; he cannot possibly ignore me..."
An Jifeng sneered coldly, "You mention him? The dirt on his hands is even worse than yours. He's afraid of being killed by Huo Shaoyan; he wishes he could kill you himself. Do you still expect him to save you?"
An Muxin's tears flowed silently and furiously.
