Chapter 4 Entering the Room

"What if I said that child was born by you, his ex-wife?" Everything was too coincidental, he couldn't help but suspect she was up to something.

Ning Yichu desperately suppressed her wildly beating heart, looking at the man's face that was growing darker by the second, "I'm afraid I'm going to disappoint you, you couldn't do it, how could you get me pregnant? Asexual reproduction?"

Li Lingyang contained his rage, biting his cheek to keep from strangling her.

His icy gaze swept across the venue, with its huge crowd and the building being extremely difficult to search.

"So you refuse to talk, do you? No matter, I have ways of making you tell the truth."

Ning Yichu's heart skipped a beat, a bad premonition looming.

The next second, Li Lingyang released her chin and instructed his bodyguards, "Please invite Lady Ning to visit my home."

As several bodyguards approached Ning Yichu, her entire body tensed defensively, and she took two steps back, saying coldly, "Li Lingyang, what are you trying to do?"

Li Lingyang didn't respond to her, instead turning to direct a meaningful look at the few remaining staff members, "Ning Yichu is in my hands. If you want her safe, have that child bring the billion he extorted over to meet me in Imperial City's Long Bay."

It took Ning Yichu a couple of seconds to realize, he was planning to use her to threaten Chen Bao!

"Getting flustered?" Li Lingyang noted the momentary panic in her eyes, his dark pupils shifting, "It seems that child really does have something to do with you."

Ning Yichu's anger flared, "You've really got the wrong person, there's no child here you're looking for. If I had orchestrated all of this, I would have taken the billion and made a clean getaway by now. Would I still be here waiting for you to catch me?"

Seeing her adamant denial, Li Lingyang's eyes grew darker, "Whether there is or not isn't up to you to decide. It's my call. Take her away!"

Ning Yichu was frantic, regardless of whether Chen Bao had scammed Li Lingyang or not, the most important thing right now was that she didn't impulsively come forward and "recognize" Li Lingyang!

Worried about Chen Bao and Ningning losing control, Ning Yichu deliberately spoke aloud to the host, "Tell my best friend to keep an eye on my fish tank at home, it's time to change the water."

The host agreed repeatedly, clearly terrified by the spectacle.

Meanwhile, in the children's playground downstairs, Chen Bao and Ningning had blended into a group of kids, seamlessly fitting in, and no one could tell they had just done something earth-shattering.

Ningning blinked her big eyes, "Brother, did you check if there's really that much money?"

Chen Bao maintained his cool expression, "I've already checked, and there's a billion."

"With a billion, that's a whole lot of zeros. With this money, Grandma Zhuo and Little Yudian won't have to live on the streets. It's like that scumbag dad finally did one good deed." Ningning propped her chin with her hands, her large eyes twinkling with bright stars.

Chen Bao, thinking back on the confrontation with Li Lingyang earlier, snorted disdainfully before reminding, "Mom's live broadcast should have started. Let's act natural later, don't let mom find out we went to see that scumbag."

"Uh-huh, you look just like the scumbag dad. Mom's biggest fear is you being taken away by him; I will absolutely not mention it."

Chen Bao scowled deeply. If it weren't for Grandma Zhuo's orphanage being on the brink of demolition, he would not have gone to see that man—the one who abandoned mom for another woman.

The siblings planned to find a spot to watch the live broadcast, but out of the blue, they saw a familiar figure stepping out of the elevator on the first floor.

Ningning was about to joyfully call out "Mommy" when Li Lingyang and a group of black-clad bodyguards appeared behind Ning Yichu.

"Shush, don't shout!" Chen Bao quickly covered Ningning's mouth, coincidentally at the same moment when Li Lingyang turned to look towards the second floor. Chen Bao tensed and hurriedly pulled Ningning into hiding.

Ningning, visibly upset, said with a tearful voice, "Scumbag dad took mommy away, oh no, what do we do now?"

Chen Bao frowned, his face showing an unusual seriousness and gravity. He had made several twists and turns, even running in and out of the vegetable market, how could they have followed him?

Remembering he had been bumped by a long-legged man on his way out, Chen Bao quickly took off his jacket and sure enough, found a tiny tracker in the pocket!

He trembled with rage, his scumbag of a father had actually schemed against him!

His little face was covered with cold cruelty, "The bastard, I underestimated him!"

"Is this a tracker?" Ningning was shocked.

"Yeah." Chen Bao stomped the tracker to pieces.

Ningning's mouth fell open in disbelief, "Dad's too wicked, isn't he? He's so rich, and we only cheated him out of a hundred million. Does he really need to cling to us so desperately? And to involve Mommy too..."

"One person's actions, one person's responsibilities, I won't let Mommy take the fall for me." Chen Bao's young face turned cold, covered with a chill that didn't match his age.

Imperial Dragon Bay in Imperial City is a well-known upscale villa complex.

Located at the top of a hill, it overlooks the foot of the mountain, covering a vast area, and the community includes amenities such as a golf course and an outdoor swimming pool.

The security guard opened the carved iron gate, the luxury car passed through several paths and finally came to a stop.

Ning Yichu was escorted out of the car by Li Lingyang, looking at the luxury villa in front of her, she felt as if she had stepped into another world.

During the more than two years of her marriage, she had lived here, with every blade of grass and tree seemingly still holding her shadow, but five years had passed, and everything had changed.

However, now was not the time to dwell on the past; she had been taken away, and the children must be terribly worried!

She needed to contact the children immediately to prevent them from doing something irreversible!

"Choose a room for yourself. Whenever you're ready to come clean, that's when I'll let you go." Li Lingyang, who had apparently followed her down from the car, stood by her side and spoke elegantly.

Ning Yichu broke away from him and followed the servant to choose a room.

At this moment, a door in a bedroom on the second floor was pulled open, and a woman wearing a languid camisole dress stepped out. The moment she saw Li Lingyang, a smile immediately curved at the corners of her mouth.

But before her smile could reach its most perfect arc, she suddenly saw a woman following behind Li Lingyang.

Her face filled with disbelief, "Lady... Lady Ning?"

Ning Yichu also recognized the woman instantly, Li Lingyang's ex-girlfriend—Shen Jiangqing.

Back then, it was because of her that Ning Yichu was mistaken for a kidnapper, ultimately leading to her dismal divorce!

"It's me. Your boyfriend insisted on inviting me to stay for a few days, you don't mind, do you?"

Shen Jiangqing's face flashed through shock, horror, disgust, and numerous other emotions.

She remembered clearly how she had framed Ning Yichu and how she had moved into Imperial Dragon Bay, and suddenly, in a panic, she looked towards Li Lingyang, "You guys..."

Li Lingyang's brows furrowed deeply, he could clearly hear that Ning Yichu was trying to drive a wedge between them!

But the more she wanted to leave, the less he would let her succeed.

"I invited her back because there are a few things I need to clarify, don't overthink it," Li Lingyang spoke indifferently.

Shen Jiangqing, lacking confidence, still feigned cheerfulness, "I will definitely take good care of Lady Ning. The third floor is under renovation recently, so how about I take you to the second floor to choose a room?"
