Chapter 4 Sign Agreement

Miss Su Jinqi screamed in panic, on the verge of tears, hastily squatted down, and reached out to wipe the wet spot on the pants, continuously apologizing, "Mr. Li, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..."

The girl's slender hands inadvertently touched around his thighs, sending an electric shock through his body, causing total numbness.

"Su Jinqi!" Li Jinghan gritted his teeth, his body recoiling, "Stop your hands right now!"

Two such incidents in one day, he couldn't help but suspect whether she was doing it on purpose!

Su Jinqi, frightened, lifted her head with a trembling voice, "Mr. Li, do you have a pair of spare trousers here?"

Just then, a knock on the door sounded, and the door was pushed open from the outside with Jin Shanya walking in front, followed by Ming Can and a man in a suit.

"Mr. Li, Mr. Song..." Jin Shanya's voice faded as she saw the situation in front of her.

Li Jinghan stood with his hands on his hips, his chest heaving, with Su Jinqi squatting in front of him, her face flushed red.

Jin Shanya glared at her fiercely, and said to Li Jinghan, "Mr. Li, Mr. Song has arrived."

She then whispered harshly to Su Jinqi, "Get out of here quickly!"

Su Jinqi stood up, glanced at the trousers of Li Jinghan, and said to Jin Shanya, "Secretary Jin, Mr. Li's trousers—"

"Shut your mouth!" Li Jinghan thundered, shouting at Jin Shanya, "Get out!"

Jin Shanya had never seen Mr. Li so angry, she took a deep look at Su Jinqi and left.

Song Huaiqian walked up to Li Jinghan with a smirk, seeing the large wet spot on his trousers and couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"Hahaha!" Song Huaiqian, holding his fist by his mouth, laughed heartily and joked, "Jinghan, did you wet your pants?"

"No, no," Su Jinqi quickly intervened, "It was my mistake; I accidentally spilled my coffee on Mr. Li's trousers."

Li Jinghan glared at Su Jinqi, warning her slowly and deliberately, "From now on, don't speak!" After saying that, he stormed into the lounge.

Su Jinqi, frightened, stuck out her tongue and kept silent by the side.

"Mr. Li, be gentler to the girls," Song Huaiqian commented with a laugh from behind, then glanced a few times at Su Jinqi before settling back into the sofa.

While Li Jinghan was changing clothes, Su Jinqi cleaned up the floor, and he came out shortly after.

As a few of them sat on the sofas, Su Jinqi, confused, stole glances at Li Jinghan, wondering why he asked her to stay.

Song Huaiqian placed a thick folder on the coffee table, a professional smile playing on his lips, and said to Su Jinqi, "Young sister, take a look at this, it's a prenuptial agreement including property, income, family obligations, etc. If there are no issues, you can sign it."

This address as "young sister" made Su Jinqi frown, feeling unspeakable rejection, her face also slightly reddened with discomfort.

Li Jinghan, even more displeased, said, "Huaiqian, as a reputed lawyer, your words should be careful. Who is your young sister?"

Song Huaiqian laughed lightly, shaking his head without a word, making a 'please' gesture to Su Jinqi to look at the agreement.

Su Jinqi hesitantly took the document, scrutinizing it attentively. The jargon, formed by dense small characters, seemed esoteric and difficult to comprehend. She thought to herself:

This truly is the style of the rich, setting down everything in black and white, as if afraid that others might take advantage of them.

Miss Su's eyes stared blankly at the paper, silently scoffing to herself: But then again, she had no desire for his wealth; had he not taken matters into his own hands and dragged her to register, why would she be sitting here looking at these documents?

"Miss Su, is there anything you don't understand?" Song Huaiqian noticed her intense focus on a particular part and asked.

Su Jinqi blinked, snapping back to reality, and softly replied, "Except for some technical terms, I can understand most of it."

Li Jinghan sat across from her, watching her with a cold gaze, "Do you think it matters whether you can understand it or not? There are so many clauses in the agreement, do you really want us to wait here for you indefinitely?"

Su Jinqi lowered her head, her fingers absentmindedly picking at the edge of the page. His implication was for her to sign quickly. Indeed, what was the use of scrutinizing details when she couldn't change anything?

Without further thought, she picked up the pen, flipped to the last page, and neatly signed her name.

After all, it was just a prenuptial agreement; she had nothing to lose being penniless.

Song Huaiqian gathered the documents and stood up, saying to Li Jinghan, "Younger brother, I'll be leaving first, call me if you need anything."

Li Jinghan also stood up and accompanied him out of the office.

"Younger brother, your new bride is cute and obedient. Try to treat her kindly and not always have a scowl on your face." Standing in front of the elevator, Song Huaiqian spoke with earnest.

Li Jinghan, hands in pockets, responded with a sarcastic laugh, "Cute and obedient? Don't be fooled by her facade. Today alone, she tried to seduce me in numerous ways, from sitting on my lap to spilling coffee on me."

"Hah!" Song Huaiqian chuckled, "Sounds quite lively."

Li Jinghan waved his hand irritably, "It's all my mother's doing!"

As it was not his place to comment on someone else's family matters, and just as the elevator arrived, Song Huaiqian patted his shoulder, "Alright, I'm off. See you at the New Year gathering."

Li Jinghan waved him off, and the elevator doors slowly closed.

Jin Shanya had been watching Su Jinqi in the General Secretarial Office, not daring to summon her after being yelled at by Li Jinghan. Seeing that he had finished sending off his guest, she hurried over, saying, "Mr. Li, it's almost time for the dinner with Mingtai Group."

Li Jinghan walked toward his office, telling her, "I'm not going to the dinner. You can leave work now."

Jin Shanya was startled by his stern face, not daring to say more, and simply responded, "Understood."

Su Jinqi hadn't left the office, waiting to discuss some matters with Li Jinghan.

Seeing him return, she quickly got up from the sofa and walked towards him, "Mr. Li…"

"We'd better keep a certain distance," Li Jinghan stated coldly as he took his coat from the hanger.

Su Jinqi stepped back prudently and, after a moment of hesitation, asked, "Mr. Li... After our registration, are we going to live together?"

She thought, since he proposed a secret marriage and did not want outsiders to know, perhaps they could still lead separate lives.

Li Jinghan had put on his coat and was putting his mobile phone into his pocket, glancing at her sideways, he countered, "What do you think? Why would I have you register with me if we're to live separate lives?"

Su Jinqi felt snubbed, thinking he really knew how not to speak nicely, when a simple yes or no could suffice, he chose to make a sarcastic comment.

"Then I'd like to go home and get some clothes and belongings first, before moving to your place. Is that alright?" she asked cautiously.
